I'd sooner buy defying gravity,

Song of the moment: Wicked - Defying gravity

This song really makes me want to watch Wicked sigh I'm sucha weakling for musicals; I thought the Glee duet with Kurt and Rachel was a lot more emotional though. Been singing it since breakfast (Hello gorgeous mood) despite the cold dreary morning. Cathy's perfect for this snuggle weather ♥ Don't you sometimes feel like your life's a musical where you can suddenly burst out in song and the world's your oyster? I love the feeling it empowers you with. Anyhow, the sun's alive again, amen! My apologies for the dry spell here, I'm having my midterms in a week so I'm aware of all these fillers here and there.... bought some baking decorations from Chip Bee gardens near Holland village a few weeks back to add to my collection hehe I can't wait to use them. On a side note, this photograph (you can tell that we were freezing) reminds me of how much I could use a vacation or a staycation right now.

Ciao!

Kisses are a far better fate,

Ain't no better other way to seal this post with an E.E. Cummings poem (if you recognize it from the title) this early Valentine's morning. Loving hints of the inadequate nature of intellect and language in the expression of love or the depth of life, and the subtle thought that perhaps death can't interrupt love. Don't be deterred by the perceived verbosity, for it's the ambiguity that brings out the beauty and mystery ♥ Not to mention the clumsy use of syntax - the illogical disarray of the emotion maybe?

Since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,
and kisses are a far better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don't cry
--the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids' flutter which says

we are for each other: then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life's not a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

Shall scuttle off to grab some breakfast and polish off some tutorial work....a picnic shall be my motivation. What can you say, I adore evening picnics. Have a blessed Valentine's with your loved ones this year everyone, ciao!

Taiwan captured on film (Part II),

A continuation from my previous film post, here are another batch of film pictures which I took during my trip to Taiwan two months back. I really enjoyed snapping these shots, so hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of the rolls I've developed too ♥

Formosan Aborginal culture village (Nantou county, 南投縣)

Ruei Suei Veteran farm (Hualien, 花蓮市)

Rail along the East Coast (From Taroko, 太魯閣)

Night markets around Taiwan (夜市)

They say money can't buy happiness, that still stands true....that is before you enter the food and shopping paradise of Taiwan. What's going to Taiwan without the shopping and food districts/markets right? Hopped around from Taitung night market (台東夜市), Shinkuchan shopping district (新堀江商圈), Feng Jia night market(逢甲夜市), Shihlin night market (士林夜市) and Taipei 101 shopping mall (台北101) just to name a few. They're all bustling and extremely vibrant even late at night! (when it's really quite skin-biting cold when the breeze comes in brrr) And an amazing discovery would be the hot ice milk bubble tea with pearls (热珍珠奶茶), the perfect beverage to be holding whilst walking down the cold roads - armed with street snacks like sweet potato balls (地瓜球) which are simply little drops of heaven I simply adore! Will share a bit more next time when I upload the digital prints. Missing the good food over there already, gosh there were a couple of nights where we skipped dinner just to try a small portion of everything which was a great experience so you should try it when you're there :)

Till my next post, ciao!

Summer rain,

Song of the moment: 心有独中 - 陳曉東

It's the 1st of a new month. I said a silent prayer as the bells chimed at twelve when I was queuing up for a toasted honey baked ham sandwich @ Good News cafe in engineering - but alas, I suffered a severe attack of gastric/indigestion which warranted a visit to the doctor just the next day. Nonetheless, it was probably a timely reminder for me to regulate proper meals (amidst juggling work and play) The upcoming week and the next promises to be really fun, please let my health hold up.

I love the autumn blend of the deciduous vegetation in this picture, and me looking unknowingly lost when my sister snapped the shot (hello to my current situation). Tons on my do to list, minor enough to make a huge molehill. I love making lists, maybe that's why my bucket list grows exponentially every week haha

1. Get rid of nail polish (what a fashion sin)
2. Tutorial readings
3. Potluck dish
4. Find a way to protect my watch screen from more scratches
5. Send CV to Sharon
6. Buy film
7. Replace my pearl earrings! :<
8. Catch up on readings
9. Reciprocate kindness
10. Declutter my work place for some productivity

Masquemerise!

NUSSU Bash 2012 was held at St. James Power house this year (same as the last) so the whole bunch of us went down to support Delvin's big day! Congrats for having a successful bash event to you and your entire committee ♥

We went slightly earlier to help out backstage, and I kinda miss the chaos and rushing around from the dressing room to the ticket booth whilst settling mini crises (e.g. Limousine prepared for a Bachelorette party, won't go into details haha) or fiddling with the security professional intercomm sets. The contestants were really entertaining to watch (Medicine guy and Biz girl won King and Queen!) especially for their performance segments - plus, the programme was nicely planned. The masks kept leaving glitter imprints on our faces though, kept having to brush them away...

Instant pictures to keep as momentos

Group shot

Justin brought along an Exchange student, Sarah from Massachusetts, US; so she joined us for the rest of the night. Welcome to Singapore!

Who can resist a picture with Jean Danker (Sorry about your picture, yiangmeng!)

And....60 jugs of house pours reserved for us and the committee!

And of course special thanks to those who looked out for me in any way or another (won't mention names because you know who you are), really can't thank you enough :)
