Dear Karen,

Here's a post dedicated to my best friend of 7 years and counting :)

Happy 19th Karen, hope you had fun yesterday with that strawberry shortcake!
Here's to our favourite year of 2010 (because we weren't here in 1010) where a very special date lies in October♥
And to all our silly escapades and mini adventures since 2004, which are still etched in my memory.
I'm so glad you're still the Karen you are I knew many years ago, and we can still click so well even though we rarely meet up nowadays 'cause we're so busy with our lives.
Nonetheless, I'm still so glad for you and you know that!

You've been such a blessing, especially in my secondary school days.
And it's so amazing how we can still click and giggle on old time jokes or laugh about the same things without even verbalizing it beforehand.
Haha you're one of the two people whom I have message telepathy with, I remember how we were so fascinated when that happened!

(pictures get better as they go down)

The day before I failed my Chemistry test, heh.
Shiany> Chemistry

I remember how this was taken at our favourite busstop with Shiany's polariod :)
And even though we were both so tired, we waited for 196 to go home together haha.

Being retarded is our forte.

The you know what handsign.

Farewell assembly graduation, we look teary-eyed.
4 years in the same class, same Crescent.

Our very messy council jail-look-alike room.
And our Crescent sweaters making us look like preppy college kids.
Weren't we escaping the b___ talk then??

Gala dress shopping + Daniel Yam last resorts!

We were freezing and judging someone. (whoopppssss)

Camwhoring during the Malacca trip, hahaha I still have the one with your eyes sticking out above the giant chocolate stick box.

We were supposed to have been staring creepily at each other! Yay to junior councillors :)

And last but not least, our VERY amazing project with ___ being banished at the back of the bus and being alone with the cab driver at 6am in the morning while he drove near the very ulu forestlike areas. And how they told us to watch the bags, hahaha. Best project everzxz.

There are probably a thousand photographs out there but I cant possibly upload all of them but they really mean so much and pose as a link to our past memories :)
Thanks for the past 7 years (and counting) and even as go to the US one day and go far, far away don't forget me on this sunny little island!
Have a splendid time at your internship, and you'll make your mark one day, owing to your capability and your flair for writing, trust me :)
Looking forward to our date on the 101010, and it's so special how these small little things can still make me smile but it's really these things that are so significant.
And haha I know I've been flooding you with Christmas letters, graduation letters, thank you letters so I hope that they're still all with you and one day you can go through them and really smile :)
All our common memories of EXCO, Council, our chalets, 1234C2 all the way, SandraShiany, ourshirt, GYLC!, Pinching or squeezing our pinkies into the G2 ink pen spring to stay awake, Our Mould and Penicillin Theory (You better get this!), Prom, Post Prom, Pre prom, sleepovers, final destination, laughing about something we remember from last week last month last year, Lengkok Bahru, our infamous drawing of you know who, hot mortals, sad angels, AC badges at the back of our council ties, and all our thousand and one projects and common memories we had together.
Thanks for everything, I love you

And like what I said to Sir on one of our PE lessons, "Karen's mine!" Hahaha, if you're not Karen I hope you're not reading this thank you, please read this post with discretion.

Prayers,

I think the beginning of it all starts from here.
Daunting you may say, yet our paths will never fray.
Our prayers will help allay.

IB,

Baccalaureate gets top marks at Ucas

By John Clare, Education Editor
The International Baccalaureate won the first official recognition yesterday of its academic superiority over A-levels, the exam it is beginning to replace.
A new points tariff announced by Ucas - the Universities and College Admissions Service - made a relatively modest IB score of 35 points (out of a maximum of 45) equivalent to four and a half A grades at A-level.

Even 30 IB points is judged equivalent to three and a half As at A-level, sufficient to secure entry to most academically selective universities.
Katy Ricks, the head of Sevenoaks, welcomed the new tariff as a "just reflection of the IB's breadth, depth and coherence".
She said: "Ucas has clearly taken account of the fact that in the upper mark bands students reach a significantly high level of knowledge and skills and that studying six subjects is demanding."
Other heads will see the premium Ucas has attached to the IB as confirmation of how far A-levels have slipped from the "gold standard". That can only hasten the rate at which state and independent schools switch to the IB, as widely admired for its stability as for its academic rigour.
Among the 87 schools that have adopted it are two of the most academically successful, North London Collegiate and King's College School, Wimbledon. The majority, though, are state schools.
IB candidates take three subjects at higher level and three at lower. They are also required to write an extended essay, take a course in the theory of knowledge and fulfil the requirements of a component called "creativity, action and service".

Does anyone come here at all?!

Middle of Life,

I'm just a little caught in the middle of Life,

The sun is hot in the sky just like a giant spotlight
The people follow the sign and synchronize in time
It's a joke
Nobody knows they've got a ticket to that show.

It's too much, it's too large to be something I'm not.

Love,

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there."
-Bob Marley
